Anime’s I’ve watched this week:

Pokemon Diamond & Pearl Episode 11 – 14

Naruto Shippuden Episode 18

History’s Strongest Disciple Kenichi 29 – 34

Nana Episode 44

There are possible (minor) spoilers if you havent watched it yourself already so read at your own risk!

Pokemon Diamond & Pearl

Episode 11: Hikari! Contest Debut!

Rating: 8/10

Pokemond Diamond & Pearl Episode 11

Hikari finally gets her chance to debut in a Pokemon contest and guess who else wants to join in the fun? A very nice episode that has plenty of performances by the many contest participants 😀

Episode 12: Contest Battle! Rival Confrontation!

Rating: 7/10

Pokemond Diamond & Pearl Episode 12

The Pokemon Contest battle continues, with the best 4 moving on to the final stages. Musashi/Candy and Muskippa takes center stage as the duo enters the final round of the contest. I can’t believe they actually passed the first stage…

Episode 13: Good Luck Mukkuru

Rating: 7/10

Pokemond Diamond & Pearl Episode 13

Team Rocket is up to their usual tricks, this time catching bird type Pokemon. It never ceases to amaze me how Team Rocket could come up with all these gadgets on their limited budget (reads as ZERO budget) and how they could have actually gotten away with it, if it weren’t for Satoshi and co.

Episode 14: Leave it to Takeshi!

Rating: 7/10

Pokemond Diamond & Pearl Episode 14

A Konohana was separated from its group one night and was found by Nurse Joy and Satoshi and co. decided to try and bring the Konohana back to its home. Team Rocket showed up as usual to try and take advantage of the situation, which separated Takeshi from the group along with Usohachi and Konohana. In the end it’s up to Usokkie to save the day. Takeshi is the main character in this episode, reminding everyone that he was the Nibi/Pewter City Gym Leader despite his obsession with beautiful girls.

Naruto Shippuden

Episode 18: Break in! Button Hook Entry!

Rating: 6/10

Naruto Shippuden Episode 18

This episode has more funny moments then there is interesting ones. Despite that, it’s pretty refreshing for me as a manga reader of Naruto to have something slightly different from the manga yet it did not deviate from the original plot of things. Best laughs comes from Neji 😀

History’s Strongest Disciple Kenichi

It was a very interesting week for Kenichi, as the two fansubs for the show had a showdown of who can release new episodes faster. There was a post about this here if you haven’t read it already.

Episode 29: What Fear, Sieg! Prelude for Destruction

Rating: 6/10

History's Strongest Disciple Episode 29

The title did say that this is a “prelude for destruction”, so there really isn’t anything worth mentioning here. The highlight of the episode was the great chase between the alien Nijima and the 5th Fist, Siegfried.

Episode 30: The Results of Training! The Effect of Moving Forward in Small Steps

Rating: 8/10

History's Strongest Disciple Episode 30

Siegfried is truly a fearsome enemy, but also one of the most interesting of the 8 Fists. He seems pretty absorbed in his musical works, naming his moves and attacks in terms related to classical music. He even starts singing in the middle of battle, trying to complete his newest musical masterpiece. Even so, Kenichi finally put all the skills he have learned from the Ryouzanpaku masters to the test, and the result was nothing less than stunning.

Episode 31: Honoka! I’ll Save You!

Rating: 7/10

History's Strongest Disciple Episode 31

Guess who’s back? The 6th Fist, Hermit! An interesting tour around Hermit’s house plus a glimpse into his life. He has a rather interesting background 😀

Episode 32: Honoka’s in Crisis! Loki’s Scheme!

Rating: 7/10

History's Strongest Disciple Episode 32

More background story on Hermit’s past and Loki took Honoka as a hostage despite Hermit’s protests and lures Kenichi into his trap. A preparation for a big showdown seems to be taking place as the Shinpaku generals heads into the battlefield. To make it more interesting, Akisame and Sakaki decided to tag along.

Episode 33: Take Him Down, Kenichi! Let Your Fists do the Talking!

Rating: 8/10

History's Strongest Disciple Episode 33

Yet even more Loki clones, and more of Hermit’s past. Kenichi appeared to be even with Hermit in battle, but in the end he had been playing in Hermit’s hand the entire time they had been fighting. Kenichi tried to turn the tide by putting his newly acquired technique to use.

Episode 34: Don’t Lose! The Remaining Words of a Loved One

Rating: 8/10

History's Strongest Disciple Episode 34

The moment has arrived with Hermit finally coming to his senses. I must say that the character build-up and development for Hermit has been the most interesting in the series so far and the dramatic suspense that has been building up in the past few episodes really made this episode a superb climax. The 1st Fist finally shows up, and the next episode will be showing the conclusion between Kenichi and Hermit’s heated rivalry.

Nana

Episode: 44

Rating: 7/10

Nana Episode 44

The time for the live concert show is drawing nearer, with Blast and Trapnest set to go on stage together. The relationship between Shin and Reira seems to be heading in the right direction, but Ren threw in a twist when Nana is just about ready to call it quits between them. Only 3 to go, and the next episode seems promising 😀
