fansub war kuro-hana and umai-doremi

For the past few days, Kuro-Hana had been consistently releasing episodes of History’s Strongest Disciple Kenichi daily, and at one point a couple of days ago Umai-Doremi finally caught up with Kuro-Hana when they released episode 28-30 in a single day.

Kuro-Hana continued to release episode 31 yesterday, which was quickly followed by Doremi as well. Apparently, within a hours after that Kuro-Hana released 32, which was also quickly followed by Doremi.

Just a few hours ago, Kuro-Hana released yet another episode, and guess how did Doremi responded :)

Now we’ll just have to wait and see who will reach the finish line first, although Kuro-Hana has been at the lead Doremi might just pull a fast one on K-H.

** Update 28th June **

Well, it looks like Umai-Doremi really did pull one over Kuro-Hana with an earlier release of episode 34.

Is this the end of the battle? Ladholyman of Doremi had previously posted that they would attempt to compete with Kuro-Hana up to episode 34 before he will be leaving for a trip that would last for a couple of weeks. Would we see more of this battle after the 2 weeks period or would Kuro-Hana catch up with the Japanese airing and end this? We’ll just have to wait and see 😀

Yes…looks like it will be a nice sprint till the end of the series!! For us viewers its not very important this kind of war…the important thing is that the episodes come out till the end, no matter who does the fansubbing (as long it is a good translation)…and no prick playing company prohibit the release of the last episodes like it happen with Death Note!!…but this is a good thing…it makes the episodes come almost daily and sometimes 2 in a role!!

    Be cool…!

Yes, I agree. I think both fansubs can be considered winners as it seems that so far both sides are still producing quality subs despite the incredibly fast releases.

And I think this brings about something interesting for us as viewers as well, it’s not everyday we get to see such an exciting part of the fansubbing world 😀

The C&D on Death Note was a pity though. Last episode to go too :(

So they started off racing and now there out of breath? I mean its been 2 weeks and no subs and 2 eps goin on 3 this week have come out. Anyone know a schedule so I’m not looking for it daily? It’s a good show but unfortunately my Japanese sucks and there are a lot of jokes you miss just looking at the pictures.

It’s not entirely unexpected that they would run out of steam eventually and slow down a little. It’s been over a week since the last episode was subbed, but after that frenzy, I think they deserve a short rest :)

I’m pretty sure they would start releasing new eps again very soon. There really isn’t any schedule yet for now, but that might change once they’ve caught up to the latest episode thats being broadcast in Japan.
