Shakugan no Shana II Episode 8

Door to the Past

Shakugan no Shana II Episode 8

Just when I thought things are getting interesting again, especially with Margery’s past as the focus, I was disappointed again. This is the first time we’re getting a peek into Margery’s past, judging from the looks of it, probably somewhere in the early to mid 1900s.

Shakugan no Shana II Episode 8

I actually couldn’t believe Margery got shot down so easily, even if it was Sydonay. What’s worse was that she actually pretended to be down to escape from him. That doesn’t sound like the Margery we all know and love.

Is it just me, or does Valac sounds a heck lot like Margery – both in voice and tone. However a quick check at ANN proved that Valac isn’t voiced by Hitomi-san. I was so damn sure they were the same person too, darn.

It’s quite obvious that Yuri would be the true subject behind Margery’s story of her past, so it’s also a pretty sure thing that Yuri won’t have a nice ending since the story seems to be serving as a warning to Keisaku.

Wilhelmina’s books just doesn’t make any sense to me…

Shakugan no Shana II Episode 7

Ike Hayato, His Glorious Day

Rating: 8/10

Shakugan no Shana II Episode 7

This is actually actually a pretty good episode. Maybe its because it’s been a couple of weeks since I’ve watched Shana and have totally lost my old frustration towards the lack of action in the series or maybe I’ve just given up hope to ever see any real ass-kicking in this second season.

Shakugan no Shana II Episode 7

Ike is surprisingly scary when it comes to organizing events and only Wilhelmina would be able to see his reasoning and go along with his plan without batting an eyelid. Being overly well prepared and having the entire day planned out for a trip to the theme park always spells disaster. Which is why I never bother to do any real planning for such a trip. You’ll always end up doing totally different things in a different order.

“Good memories comes from good planning.”

This guy obviously needs help with a reality check. While it’s somewhat true, the best memories are often ones with little planning and just enjoying the moment without any worries. At least that’s true from my own experience.

Shana is just full of win this episode, going for all the roughest and toughest rides and games. Shana with a lightsaber is pure awesomeness. Alastor should really find a lightsaber to replace the Nietono no Shana. It’s actually interesting to see Shana wanting to have fun for once.

Ike’s motion sickness is out of this world…

Come on, a ferris wheel!? *shakes head*

Shakugan no Shana Episode 6

Night Before an Ordeal

Rating: 8/10

Shakugan no Shana II Episode 6

While this episode is a huge improvement over the last few since it actually made some progress over the Fumina Konoe problem, I still think Yuuji should get whacked in the head.

Sure, he did try to think about the problem and wanted to ask Ogata to walk Konoe to school by herself. But in the end it was still Shana and Kazumi who truly patched things up. Other than just thinking about it, Yuuji did absolutely nothing!

Putting that aside, this has been the most interesting episode in the second season of Shana so far. Satou being mischievous and agreeing that it’s important to study for the surprise test the next day when he was just going on about neglecting it a few moments earlier made me lol.

Shana Harem

“All your girls are belong to me!”

The best part comes when the bottomless keg, Margery Daw, finally woke up and wandered into the kitchen looking for water. I initially thought Ogata recognized her since it was Margery that gave her the initial push forward to confessing to Tanaka back in the hot springs, but either it was too dark or the OAV didn’t count towards the main story since she didn’t remember her from then.

As usual, Margery Daw surprised everyone including Marco with her advice that would finally settle this excruciating love triangle fiasco concerning Konoe. Finally.

Shakugan no Shana II Episode 6

But wait, looks like this isn’t exactly the end of the love conflict yet. Just when I thought that we might actually get to see some real action, the preview for episode 7 reveals yet another relationship-centric episode. At least it’s not Yuuji this time.

Shana-sensei

Still waiting some real ass-kicking Flame Haze action…

More Anime To Watch Out For This Fall

Posted by Neko Kyou in Coming Soon on September 21st, 2007

Impz at THAT Animeblog posted a pretty comprehensive list of upcoming anime this fall along with whatever info he could dig up, which is actually quite a lot. I’ve added 5 new anime to my list of anime to watch out –

  • ef -a tale of memories
  • Ghost Hound
  • Dragonaut ~ The Resonance
  • Gambling Apocalypse Kaiji
  • Shion no Ou – The flowers of Hard Blood

Chibi ShanaDamn, I seriously hope I have enough time for all these. Add these to my current list of anime to watch out for, I have 11 anime on my list! And this doesn’t even include the list of anime I’m currently watching which you can find in my about page.

Most likely I’ll start dropping off some by the 3rd or fourth episode if they aren’t good enough. But if they’re all good, then I’m probably doomed XD

But still, Shana II is still at the very top of my list and gets the highest priority above the rest 😀

Shakugan no Shana Second (Trailer)

Posted by Neko Kyou in Coming Soon on September 4th, 2007

The holidays are over in a blink of an eye. It’s kinda hard to get back into writing and posting if you stopped doing it for more than a week or so.

Just to get things going again, I’ve just found this new 14 seconds trailer for Shakugan no Shana Second, one of the anime titles which I’m looking forward to this fall.
