It’s official… Dumbledore is Gay!

Full story here and here.

Wow… What the heck was J.K. Rowling thinking?

Whatever it was, this certainly puts a twist on things. I will never look at Dumbledore the same way ever again. But it seems that most fans are taking this as a good thing as the audience applauded after a short gasp.

I’ve always thought if any, he would have ended up with Prof. McGonagall. Guess I was wrong. As for Dumbledore being revealed as gay now, I guess it puts an interesting twist and shed more light on his story with Grindelwald. Now I wonder how Grindelwald felt 😛

But why reveal it now?

Besides the fact that she had to set the script for the 6th movie straight, she didn’t really need to announce it publicly. She might have revealed this bit of information to help continue the Harry Potter buzz a few months after the final book was released. Well, maybe.

Hellgate: London Beta Screenshots

Posted by Neko Kyou in Random Fun on October 21st, 2007

Another game post!

This time it’s screenshots from Hellgate: London MMORPG Beta. Hellgate: London has been on my watch list since I learned about it almost a year ago. I was finally able to get not one, but two keys for the last Beta in-take. The second key I passed to Dyna.

It seemed that the reason why info on the beta was so hard to come by was because all beta players were under a non-disclosure agreement. But that has been lifted today and we’re all free to blog/post/brag about it.

I could only play the game smoothly in all low settings, and only managed to get 2 screenshots using Windows printscreen function (since Hellgate: London hasn’t got that function in yet… probably because we weren’t allowed to post any images anyway before today).

If you want to know more, head over to this Hellgate: London Beta Hands-On Impression post. Dyna used the highest settings so clearly he has better screenshots than I do 😛

Click on them for full image size in new window.

First Person View – Feels like FPS…

Third Person View – Hanging in the Subway

So far I’m really enjoying the game despite the bugs we’ve uncovered in just a few hours of playing. The gameplay feels a lot like Diablo – no surprise there, since it is pretty much a spiritual successor of the game.

There’s another MMORPG that I’m really looking forward to testing out – CabalOnline, which will be making a SEA debut very soon 😀

You can start to pre-order Hellgate: London here.

Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep

Kingdom Hearts II Letter from the KingHere’s another link for the day 😀

If you’re a fan of Kingdom Hearts, head over to Dyna’s Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep speculation post and check it out.

You will find a few theories/speculations that both of us came up with. That post was supposed to be up a couple of weeks ago so there might have been some new info that we hadn’t heard about.

Check out the timeline and let me know what you think either here or over at Dyna‘s.

I’m a very big fan of the Kingdom Hearts franchise. I’ve been trying to decide whether or not I wanted to get a PSP, but when Nomura announced the 3 new Kingdom Hearts game with one coming out for the PSP, I immediately made up my mind to get one. But since Birth by Sleep would be the last to be released among the 3 new games announced, my current priorities are still the Wii and PS3.

No plans for Xbox360 😛

Kingdom Hearts Ven

Ven… Somehow related to Sora?

Interesting Links 3

It’s been a long time since I’ve done this 😛

  • Kensaku has gotten more interesting lately with some very nice articles. One of my favourite is his how to make a wish at a temple/shrine in Japan. It’s a common scene in many anime, but do you really know the proper procedures? There’s a lot more to it than what you’ve seen on anime.
  • GoddessCarlie posted her thoughts on a BBC Documentary entitled Sex in Japan. You can find the first half of the documentary on YouTube. Be warned that the video isn’t exactly safe for work/kids. There are some inappropriate scenes. Check out Carlie’s post about it first. She summed it up very nicely.

So many anime, so little time…

Posted by Neko Kyou in Rants, Updates on October 18th, 2007

ShanaWith so many new anime starting this season, there’s bound to be plenty of new series I’m starting to watch. Now I’m up to a point where I could no longer count the number of anime that I’m currently watching on both my hands. That’s right, I’m watching more than 10 different anime series right now and there are still some that I’ve been wanting to pick up but haven’t had the chance to do so yet.

Because of that, I’ve decided that I would no longer blog on the episodes review for all of them. The initial list of anime I’m watching right now but would no longer blog about would be:

  • Shugo Chara (This feels like a cross between Sailormoon and Care Bears. I’m only watching this for fun)
  • Goshuushou-sama Nomiya-kun (The fanservice anime of the season. Also watching this for fun only)
  • ef- a tale of memories (Looks promising, but the first episode got me so confused, I’m still trying to make sense of it)
  • Night Wizard the Animation (Looks promising, but I haven’t even decided if I want to continue watching this)
  • Pokemon Diamond & Pearl (It’s basically rinse and repeat anyway)

The list will probably grow longer. I will probably stop blogging about either Da Capo II or Clannad as well.

But that doesn’t mean I’ll stop talking about them altogether. I might still pop it in whenever there are any episodes worth mentioning about.
