   Interesting point there. I didn’t know about that so I went to do some quick research over at Wiki and Google and this is what I’ve gathered.

   In a way yes it’s technically anime as well, but mostly no. While Japan did produce some of the Transformers series, it did not come from there. It’s also more popularly known something that came from the US.

   Anime is a term that relates to animations that originated from Japan, something which Transformers is not.

   But I never realized that Japan had produced Transformers before this, thanks for pointing it out

   Do you know what people in Japan call non-japanese animations? I’m wondering if they call them “cartoons”, have their own word for it, or call all cartoons “anime”. It’s interesting if it’s just “anime” – interesting how the term is different in Japan and in Western countries (because here we call only cartoons from Japan “anime”).

   Hope my rambling thoughts make some sense!

   Carlie, they’re called anime too. To the Japanese, the term anime refers to any kinds of animation, regardless of whether they are from Japan or not.

   Transformers was done by Sunbow Productions, an American animation studio; therefore its not “Anime.” Learn to get your facts straight. Hasbro the toy company has rights and shit over Transformers too, also American.

   So the idiot saying “Transformers is technically anime,” just ignore him. Just because they have animators who were probably Japanese or Korean doesn’t make the show “Anime.”

   I guarantee you Optimus Prime and Megatron can single handedly wreck every Gundam out there. What a bunch of bullshit, I pity this overly-biased piece of trash individual who wrote this.

   i have to disagree, i like anime and all but gundams don’t beat transformers, im a big fan of the gundam series gundam wing and the one year war series are my favorites and ive even designed my own mobile suits.. but optimus prime vs rx78 optimus wins hands down

   If you’re comparing with RX78, then probably Optimus Prime would win. But I still think that majority of Gundam could win over Transformers 😀

   It’s certainly a debate that could go on forever I actually know a lot of people who believe that Transformers will win over Gundams, but I’m a firm believer that overall Gundam > Transformers.

   It would really be fun if they actually create a special where both sides collide and duke it out 😀

    oh it could.. thing is gundams are well mecha.. controlled machines and transformers are living machines.. so the gundam is due to the pilot,k but gundams and transformers together would be awsome..

    this is for the last 2 years post i think in the time you post that comment gundam are just machine… but know i dont think so what can transformers do against the DRAGOON System, Phase armor, Beam Rifle,…. although Gundams ain’t a living machine…. there adaptation and battle gear is superior than a tranformer… Transformer cant destroy a whole fleet in 5 minutes you know…

    all the transformers would go clingy clacky and make some super robot and crush all, or destroy the sun and those “solor powered human controlled” gundams would be POOWNED, or the autobots would just shoot the head of all the gundams were the humans control(with there super good aim)jk there aim sucks-but they would still win.

    PS:GUNDAM ROBOTS MOVE TO SLOW FTL, NOT FAST/FLEXIBLE HUMAN LIKE- LIKE THE TRANSFORMERS

    Lol, I think Super Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann from the anime “Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann” is better then both gundam and tranformers. I mean, if you think about it, it is way bigger then the Earth so all it has to do is poke the tranfromers or gundam and they will squashed.
