It's geared more towards the guys and I know most of them like it, me included :D The anime follows the manga quite closely, except for the ending where a few things were changed. I did enjoy Chobits, although all the "panties" sort of stuff did take me out of the story a bit (like it kept on telling me I'm not it's target audience... if that makes sense).
