Mutability

This episode is about the battles that team Kakashi are facing. Each opponent that they fight is very tough. For example, Yamato is fighting with Fudo whose skin is as hard as steel. Yamato’s wood element jutsu can barely hurt him. The only thing that Yamato can do is to trick Fudo that he manages to kill Yamato. As for Naruto, he fights with a woman who claims to have the kiss of death ability. However, Naruto is not making it easy for her to defeat him. Naruto uses his clone jutsu to make her life miserable. Nevertheless, the woman, Fuka, shows her true skills. She can use all five elemental jutsu! Naruto is overwhelmed by her spamming skills.

Sai, on the other hand, faces with Fuen. Fuen is the one who designed the maze. Thus, with a tracking device sticking on Sai’s bag, Fuen can see Sai’s movement on the map. However, Sai outsmarts him by using his clone jutsu too. After, Sai escapes from Fuen, he saves Sakura from the spider but he gets himself injured in the process. Sora, who decides not to help Sakura find Naruto, ends up confronting a man who is believed to be the leader for the grave robbers. Finally, at Konoha village, Danzo knows that he is being watched and wonders why they are doing this when the Tsunade has more important things to do.

Squirm

In this episode, Naruto is working his behind off to be able to slice a leaf into half. Because of his clones can transfer and accumulate knowledge and experience, Naruto is able to speed up his training. Naruto also seeks guidance from Asuma, who is also a wind element user. Asuma agrees to give him some useful tips but in return, Naruto has to treat Asuma’s team a barbeque meal after the next mission. Naruto has no money but he has no choice either. We learn a lot about wind manipulation and its strength during Asuma’s demonstration.

In this episode, we learn about Asuma’s bloodline and his new love life. Asuma is actually the Third Hokage’s son and he is secretly in love with Kurenai. Asuma’s team is reunited for a mission. They are glad that they are together again. Just like the old times. Finally, as team Yamato and Asuma move out, we are shown to a four cloaked figures watching over a burnt village on a hill. It seems like they are planning a rebellion.

A New Enemy

All is not well at the Leaf Village, there are so many problems facing by the Hokage Tsunade. One of them is Danzo. Worried that Danzo may plan another plot, Tsunade orders that Danzo be monitored frequently. Meanwhile, Danzo is still concern about Sai’s decision to stay with team Kakashi a while longer.

Back to the Fire Temple mission, team Kakashi, Chiruku and Sora manage to find the coffins. The funny thing is that the coffins are moving on their own. Besides that, it seems too easy for them to find it that Yamato thinks that it may be a trap. Nevertheless, they still go after the coffins. Naruto and Sora keep competing with each other to recapture the coffin but because of it, they lose it.

In this episode, we are introduced with 3 more new villains. They seem to be earth elemental users because of their spells are earth based. Fuudo, Fuen and Fuuka are their names. Apparently the only male member in the team is being ‘queen controlled’ by his female counterparts. These three villains, with their earth jutsu, reconstruct a whole new landscape or maze for our heroes. Will they come out alive as team Kakashi members are separated.

Deprived of eternal sleep. Loneliness.

Team Kakashi heads out to complete the Fire Temple mission. Along the way, Naruto is trying out his new wind ability which confuses the rest of the teammates. They thinks that he is scared to do the mission due to the previous night discussion about dead people and graves. Sai, who is still an amateur in making friends, always make the wrong decisions towards his relationship with his pals.

The team is supposed to meet with the people from the Fire Temple. However, they have not arrived after a long time. Yamato is worried and wonders if they have gone to the wrong rendezvous point. Thus, the team splits into two. Yamato and Sakura will search for the Fire Temple people while Sai and Naruto stay behind in case the people actually come. Unfortunately, an embarrassing incident happen between Sai and Naruto that makes both of them separated. After being chased by a wild boar, Naruto finds a hidden grave. He also finds a guy named Sora entering the grave. Sora is skilled at wind element and both of them duel each other.

The battle is stopped by Yamato and the temple people. Apparently, Naruto and Sora are supposed to be allies in completing the mission. After some introduction, they all head to the Fire Temple where Naruto feels a déjà vu about being there in his dream.

While in the temple, the monk leader explains everything about the problem and the loyal bodyguards of Fire Country’s feudal lord. Team Kakashi also has a chance to view the monk training too. Naruto, realizing that Sora is not serious in practicing, provokes him to a fight again. During the fight, Naruto realizes the other monks are starring at Sora as if they are despised at him. The battle ends and Sora flees to a mountain. Naruto visits him and has a private chat with him. As they return to the temple, another tomb is being robbed. The episodes end with the temple robbers surfing away on a wooden coffin.

Wind

Kakashi sensei is back on his feet now and he is set to start Naruto’s special training. He knows that at the current state Naruto is now, it is quite difficult for him to save Sasuke. Therefore, Naruto must have this arduous and crash course on creating his own jutsu. Naruto is so anxious about it and cannot wait to start. Kakashi mentions that the training is very special because only the person who has a lot of chakra can do this. Thanks to the Kyuubi inside Naruto, Naruto has satisfied the requirement. Even Kakashi is not able to undergo this training. Besides Kakashi, Yamato also helps Naruto in his training.

In this episode, we learn that Naruto’s element is wind. The method to find out is by using a special kind of paper that can detect the slightest chakra in a person. To me, it is something like a litmus paper. So, a person can be a fire, water, earth, lightning or wind type. A ninja can have two types of element. For example, Yamato is a water and earth type. With his skills, he can actually combine these elements to form a new element which is the wood type. It is very interesting to know, yes. Besides that, there is also a mention of the dark and light type. But, Kakashi decides to save the explanation of those elements later in the series.
