Strategy for Comeback

Clannad Episode 18 Black & White Tomoya

Rating: 9/10

Just when you start to think, “Hey, it can’t get any better than this!”, it does. Clannad keeps getting better and better that I’m beginning to feel afraid of what’s to come. Afraid, but very damn excited. It’s a good thing, really. I just can’t wait for the widescreen DVD version of the series to hit the shelves.

Clannad Episode 18 Best Episode Ever?

Tomoya getting bombarded by his harem was hilarious, especially when even the usually quiet Kotomi and Ryou duo starts to get into the act and forces Tomoya to finish up the insane amount of food prepared for the lucky bastard. Well, Fuko was there as well, but her random appearance doesn’t really surprise me anymore nor does it add much effect to the atmosphere as it did the first time it happened.

I don’t get it, why can’t Tomoya just appreciate all the girls fussing over him for once. I, for one, would probably enjoy it much like how Sunohara would and let’s be honest here, most guys would LOVE to be in his place right about now. He just doesn’t know how to truly enjoy what he has.

I’ve heard many people saying that there won’t be a Kyou or Tomoyo arc, and I finally see the reason why. Looks like Tomoya is finally starting to realize a hidden feeling for Nagisa and the part where Nagisa was hit by the tennis ball? Priceless! That scene effectively killed any other arcs or pairings unless KyoAni decides to pull a big one over us. And chances are, if they did that, they would have hordes of fans marching down their hallways unleashing deadly flesh eating starfishes.

Tomoya protecting Nagisa

Looks like Tomoya’s defensive instinct for Nagisa is finally revealing itself…

I’m beginning to really love Clannad’s soundtracks, especially the one played during this entire scene and during the part where Tomoya and Kyou were locked together in the gym equipment storage.

And as much as I’m a big fan of Kyou and Tomoyo, I do think that Nagisa would be the best choice for Tomoya.

GACC 2008 – Part III (Videos!)

Posted by Neko Kyou in Personal on March 9th, 2008

Took me quite a long time to get all these uploaded thanks to the bad Internet connection that keeps disconnecting every 10-30 minutes. Anyway, all these are videos of Morita on stage that I’ve managed to catch with my camera which was running low on both memory and battery. Next time, I’ll need to bring a bigger memory card (which is empty) and more batteries. And probably a better camera as well.

And one final BANKAI! from Morita:

Not much action in this episode but there is a lot of information being revealed. To continue from the previous episode, the person who opens the door is Yamato. Accompanying him are Naruto and Sakura. Naruto is pissed off when he sees Sai while Sakura tries to calm him down. The team demands an explanation from Sai’s betrayal.

Believing that it is hopeless to keep anymore secrets from them, Sai agrees to tell them his mission objectives. You will be surprised to know that his mission is about ‘killing two birds with one stone.’ During the conversation, Sakura returns Sai’s book to him. Sai is very grateful for having it back but when Yamato tells him that they open and read the book, he is not so pleased. So, throughout the conversation in the room, they are interrogating Sai. Unfortunately, Kabuto has just arrived and is about to open the door. When he opens it, they are already gone.

The team brings Sai out of the hideout and continues interrogating him. This time around, Sai is all tied up. Sai advises Naturo to give up rescuing Sasuke because Orochimaru will always be near him. Naruto still insists on rescuing him no matter what because he is like a brother to him.

GACC 2008 – Part II (Loots)

Posted by Neko Kyou in Personal on March 4th, 2008

I missed out this image in my previous post on GACC 2008 2nd day cosplay. My 2nd set of batteries for my digital camera died while trying to take this picture, so I used my phone camera instead. This was the last picture I took of the event right before I left.

Noh Mask

This cosplayer moves around slowly and almost gracefully creepy, giving me the same vibe as the No Face in Spirited Away… Very nice.

Here are my loots from GACC2008. Total amount spent was actually below RM100, since I forgot to bring money. Was actually rather tempted to buy a few of the models and figurines that were on sale, but they were simply too expensive and I just didn’t had enough on me.

Like I said, this was my first time attending this sort of event and I wasn’t fully prepared and didn’t know what to expect. I was lucky to even remember to bring my camera in the first place.

Anyway, on to the loots!

Perfect World Bookmarks

Easily the best bookmark available in the entire event!

Perfect World Poster

This is one huge poster, although not as nice as the bookmarks…

Komik Factory Goody Bag

The best part about this goodie bag? The bag itself!

Komik Factory Calendar

I already a ton of other 2008 calendars, but this is my by far the best!

Swordsman by kidchan

A swordsman drawing by kidchan. I’m gonna have to scan this up properly…

Bought these from one of the booths, can’t recall which exactly… But they’re really good.

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney & Bleach

Seems like I bought the last Phoenix Wright set. Sadly, I was actually hoping to get 2-3 sets :(

Gurren Lagann Poster

This was so well drawn and coloured, it was impossible NOT to buy! Maybe I should from this up (or so says Dyna)

Haruhi, Yuki, Mikuru & Godot Badges

A few badges bought from a couple of booths, Godot’s badge is actually quite nice.

I’m still trying to convert and compress the videos I took of Morita on stage. Hopefully I can get it done by tomorrow and upload them, then I can post them up.
